An officer has been shot and a suspect is dead after an incident near Soutel Drive and Norfolk Boulevard in the Sherwood Forest area of Northwest Jacksonville, according to multiple News4JAX sources.

A man was arrested Wednesday and accused of manslaughter in connection to the shooting death of a woman in April 2023 in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was arrested in connection with a deadly shooting late last month in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood of Northwest Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday. Police said they found a 26-year-old man who appeared to be suffering from at least one gunshot wound. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation led to a warrant being obtained for the suspect, who was identified as Corbie. Police said Corbie was taken into custody several days later in Albany, Georgia, and then was transported back to Jacksonville. Officers were called to Roanoke near Gisborne Drive, in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood of Northwest Jacksonville, before 9 p.m. and found the victim with a single gunshot wound. Police said they were able to interview several witnesses, but are looking for additional people who may have seen what happened.
