1 killed, 4 hurt in South Carolina Waffle House shooting
One man was killed early Sunday in a shooting in the parking lot of a Waffle House near a South Carolina interstate that also injured four people inside the restaurant, Lee County Sheriff Daniel Simon said. The employee and three customers inside the restaurant at the U.S. Highway 15 exit on Interstate 20 in Bishopville are expected to survive the shooting around 4 a.m., the sheriff told The Associated Press. Surveillance footage from the parking lot shows a small white sedan pull out of the parking lot and head north on U.S. 15 toward Bishopville, the sheriff said.news.yahoo.com

Waffle House CEO says dine-in service will be limited for 'some time' as states reopen
Waffle House anticipates operating with limited dine-in service for "some time" as some U.S. states lift restrictions on businesses, CEO Walt Ehmer told CNBC on Tuesday. "I think we'll gradually start welcoming more and more customers back," Ehmer said on "The Exchange." Waffle House on Monday began to offer limited dine-in capacity at 330 of its restaurants in Georgia and around 70 in Tennessee, following the relaxation of some coronavirus-related restrictions in those states. The locations that now have partial dine-in service had remained open for carryout during the Covid-19 crisis, Ehmer said. ATLANTA, Ga. – A worker at a Georgia Waffle House has tested positive for the new coronavirus, prompting co-workers to quarantine themselves in their homes, company officials said Tuesday. Meanwhile, five more people in Georgia have tested positive for the new virus strain, as coronavirus fears spread to schools and the Georgia Capitol. At the Georgia Capitol, Republican House Speaker David Ralston on Tuesday announced that the House page program will be suspended and visitors to the House floor will be limited. A child care center in Acworth also closed after a worker tested positive, and Cobb County closed a library branch where a worker had contact with a child from the day care. Two other Georgia school systems told parents that employees had gone into self-quarantine after potential contact.
