Owners, Carolos and Rita Cusatti, said a tree fell on their outdoor kennels, which were equipped with heaters and other accommodations. We cleaned the kennels yesterday and had heaters ready for the up coming cold weather. Unfortunately a tree fell on the... Strong storms Thursday night left a trail of damage and debris across Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. The second landed on a building, puncturing the ceiling of one classroom and leaving water damage and debris. A few doors down from that incident, a sleeping baby also had a close call when a large tree branch fell through a roof. In a Lake Geneva neighborhood in southern Clay County where five homes were reported to have received damage. Winds stripped the tar paper off the roof of the Whiskey River Saloon in Starke, leading to significant water damage to the business.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Wind gusts of 50, 60 to over 70 mph across our viewing area Thursday night took down a few trees, dozens of power lines and littered yards with limbs and other debris. Trees were blown down on a mobile home and a kindergarten in Orange Park. Several more trees and power lines in were down in Clay and Bradford counties. We’ve collected some of the damage photos in a gallery at the top of this story. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 13-year-old girl had to be rescue from her bedroom after a downed tree trapped her inside. The mother says her daughter was in her bedroom when that area was crushed by a tree. She and her son had to pry open the door to get her out. It happened after 10 p.m. when a severe storm system swept the area with strong winds and heavy rains. The home located at Orange Park North Mobile Home sustained serious damage.
