Bobby Bowden continues improving after COVID-19 battle
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Bobby Bowden continues to recover from a positive test for COVID-19 and Wednesday, he released a statement on his health that included endorsements of President Donald Trump. In a letter posted to social media and emailed elsewhere, Bowden said that he was treated for COVID-19 with Remdesivir, one of the same drugs used to treat the President’s COVID-19. I just went through a battle with Covid-19 and God just want' ready to take me Home yet to be with Him. But thanks to the help of Dr. Michael Forsthoefel and the support of Ann and my children, I beat it. Bowden will turn 91 on Nov. 8, five days after election day.
Bobby Bowden leaves hospital after COVID-19 treatment
Former Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden was released from a hospital Thursday after being treated for COVID-19. Bowden family friend Kim Shiff said the 90-year-old college Hall of Famer was back home after a weeklong stay at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. He had received word of the positive test a few days after returning to his Tallahassee home from a lengthy hospital stay for an infection in his leg. Bowden told the Tallahassee Democrat earlier this week that he was “doing good” and expected to be released soon. Bowden coached Florida State for 34 years and is second on the career victories list in major college football with 357, behind only the late Joe Paterno of Penn State.

Bobby Bowden hospitalized with COVID-19, report says
One day after announcing that he tested positive for the coronavirus, legendary Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden was hospitalized as a precaution, according to the Tallahassee Democrat. "I feel sure he’s going to be OK,” Ann Bowden told the Democrat. "I am very positive. He hasn’t been getting around much at all due to his leg; it has been pretty painful. Bowden coached Florida State from 1976-2009, amassing 389 wins (twelve of which were vacated by the NCAA because an ineligible player played in the games), two national championships, and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2006.

The iconic Bowden, 90, said that he was the only person in his household who tested positive for the virus. “I don’t feel bad yet, I guess I can loaf around the rest of the week,” Bowden told the newspaper. Bowden retired after the 2009 season and a 33-21 win in the Gator Bowl over West Virginia. Bowden coached for 40 years in major college football, first at Samford, then West Virginia and finally at Florida State.
No. 12 Miami routs Florida State
12 Hurricanes beat Florida State 52-10 on Saturday night. Miami scored touchdowns on its five possessions and built a 35-point lead at halftime. He also ran for 65 on eight carries against Florida State. “Any time you give up 52 points, it’s never progress,” Florida State linebacker Amari Gainer said. Norvell should have easy act to follow at Florida State
Mike Norvell has a relatively easy act to follow. Norvells first season at Florida State should be an upgrade from the Willie Taggart era, which was one of college footballs biggest coaching debacles in recent years. It was so obvious that Taggart was in over his head that Florida State cut ties midway through his second season, a rarity in college athletics. He posted four consecutive winning seasons at Memphis before taking over in Florida's state capital. Before he even coached a game, Norvell was on the brink of a revolt in June after he claimed to have spoken to each of his players individually about George Floyds death and the ensuing protests against racial injustice.
