Murphy, who played at Englewood High School and Jacksonville University, told SportsNet New York on Friday that he was retiring. โThis is a beautiful game, and I really just feel humbled and blessed that it let me jump on the ride for a little bit,โ Murphy told SNY. Murphy played seven seasons for the Mets and will be remembered the most for his time there, including a torrid postseason in 2015. But his best season came in 2016 with the Nationals where Murphy hit a career-highs in batting average (.347), home runs (25) and RBI (104).
Icemen ownership group will be part of new ECHL franchise in Savannah
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ Three members of the Jacksonville Icemenโs ownership group will have a hand in a the ECHLโs newest franchise in Savannah. The league announced that the Savannah Professional Hockey Team will begin play in the ECHL in 2022-23 season. The team will play in the new Savannah Arena. Icemen owner Andy Kaufmann, team president Bob Ohrablo and executive vice president Scott Einhorn will serve in various capacities with Savannahโs new ECHL entry. Ohrablo will be the Savannah franchiseโs governor and Einhorn as the executive vice president.

Police: Baltimore's deputy police commissioner robbed at gunpoint

Deputy Commissioner Daniel Murphy and his wife were walking Friday night near Patterson Park when a white SUV with four people in it approached them, the department said in a statement emailed to CNN. Two black men, believed to be about 18 years old, got out of the SUV and approached Murphy and his wife, the department said. An organizational chart of the Baltimore Police Department shows that Murphy is the deputy commissioner of the Compliance Bureau. Murphy was robbed a day after Harrison released new plans to reduce violent crime, WBAL reported.
