After missing the entire 2020 season due to the coronavirus, the National Arena League is scheduled to begin the 2021 season on May 28. But the Jacksonville Sharks won't kick off until Friday, June 4 when they travel to southern California to face the Ontario Bandits. The Sharks will host the Carolina Cobras on June 12 in the home opener at the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena.

The Sharks, who won NAL championships in 2017 and 19, were originally scheduled to open defense of their title on June 20. The Sharks were 13-1 last year. Over the course of the past few months, we have been faced with unprecedented circumstances that have caused multiple delays to the start of the 2020 season. Although we have worked hard to save the current season, it is with deep regret that we are announcing the cancellation of the 2020 National Arena League season.

The Champions Indoor Football league and the Sharks' National Arena League announced on Thursday that they would create a partnership that unites the two. These immediate revenues will offset additional costs incurred from travel and other expenses," said Champions Indoor Football commissioner Ricky Bertz. Sharks rally to 2019 NAL Championship
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Sharks won the 2019 NAL Championship game in dramatic fashion Saturday night 52-48. The Sharks trailed 28-23 at half and never led in the 2nd half until the final seven seconds. Quarterback Mike Fafaul connected with Durron Neal on a five yard touchdown and the Sharks were NAL champs for the second time in three years. The Sharks pulled Fafaul out of the game at halftime and inserted Jonathan Bane. The move would pay off as Fafaul led the Sharks to the comeback win.

The Sharks high-powered offense has been led by wide receiver Devin Wilson. The former Tennessee State star leads the National Arena League in receptions (86), receiving yards (977) and receiving touchdowns (24).
