Brunswick man charged with murder, arson in 63-year-oldโs death

BRUNSWICK, Ga. โ A man was arrested in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found after a house fire in Brunswick on Wednesday, authorities said. William Best Jr., 37, of Brunswick, is charged with murder, second-degree arson and felony probation violation. According to the Brunswick Police Department, firefighters responded around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday to a house fire on G Street. He was taken to the Glynn County jail around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
3 shot in dispute between bouncers, patrons at Brunswick adult nightclub
BRUNSWICK, Ga. โ Officers called to a shooting at the Red Carpet Lounge about 2 a.m. Saturday found a man with three gunshot wounds and stopped a Jeep leaving the area containing two more men with gunshot wounds, according to the Brunswick Police Department. Officer learned that bouncers from the club followed patrons outside at closing time trying to get them to leave the area before the dancers left for the night. Stephen Bryant, 35 of Charleston, South Carolina, who was a bystander and stepped in to help the bouncers, was shot in the chest, leg and arm. Two of three men in the fleeing SUV had minor gunshot wounds and were taken to Southeast Georgia Health Systems. No arrests have been made and Brunswick police are still working to find out who initiated gunfire.
$1,000 reward offered for tips in Brunswick manโs killing
BRUNSWICK, Ga. โ Police are offering a $1,000 reward for tips leading to an arrest in a Brunswick manโs killing. Michael Rogers, 64, was found suffering from a head injury behind a home on Third Street about 8:30 a.m. Aug. 9, according to the Brunswick Police Department. Second shooting in 24 hours in Brunswick
BRUNSWICK, Ga. - The Brunswick Police Department is investigating a second shooting in 24 hours. Police were called to Second Street at 7:30 p.m. Saturday after reports of a person shooting at a car with two people inside. The victim was transported to South East Georgia Health Systems for treatment. Earlier Saturday, police say, Cameron Johnson, 20, was shot and killed in an argument over a girl. Ronrecus Goodwin, 21, turned himself in and is charged with aggravated assault and murder.
Officer's gun goes off during arrest, police say
BRUNSWICK, Ga. โ An officer's gun went off Friday during an arrest, the Brunswick Police Department said. Officers first responded to a call about a domestic dispute on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Officers then located Mack, who police said began to resist before he could be handcuffed. According to the Police Department, several officers had to assist with the arrest and use a Taser. After being treated, he was transported to the Glynn County Sheriff's Office.
