2 Putnam County deputies hospitalized after cruisers collide
Two deputies โhave a long road to recoveryโ after a crash Tuesday evening on State Road 20, west of Motes Road, according to the Putnam County Sheriffโs Office. The Florida Highway Patrol said the Putnam County deputies, ages 24 and 25, were responding to a call around 7:40 p.m. when their cruisers collided. The Sheriffโs Office said both deputies were taken to a nearby hospital before they were airlifted to Orange Park Medical Center. The Highway Patrol described the deputiesโ injuries as โserious but non-life-threatening.โโOne of the deputies suffered some internal injuries which was the initial emergency surgery that took place last night. The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, and the Sheriffโs Office is investigating the domestic incident that the deputies were responding to.
FOUND: Clay County deputies located missing 12-year-old boy
The Clay County Sheriffโs Office says 12-year-old Jaylen Rosiah Jordan Myles has been found safe and sound. The boy had been missing since noon on Sunday. CCSO told News4Jax no suspicious circumstances were involved. The sheriffโs office tweeted they are thankful for everyoneโs assistance.
Putnam County deputies meet with mental health professional after murders of 2 boys
PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. โ Putnam County deputies have been suffering from whatโs described as a form of post-traumatic stress disorder after the murders of two children. According to the Putnam County Sheriffโs Office, Mark Wilson Jr., 30, used a knife and a hammer to kill Robert Baker, 12, and Tayten Baker, 14, last week inside their Melrose home. And itโs definitely that something that can stick with them for a long period of time if not properly managed,โ said Col. Joe Wells, with the Putnam County Sheriffโs Office. โI have scenes in the back of my head that I have experienced during my 24-year career in law enforcement. According to the Putnam County Sheriffโs Office, Wilson is being held without bond and is heavily guarded in isolation.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. โ Two teenage boys died early Sunday morning in what is believed to be a homicide-suicide at a Ponte Vedra Home, the St. Johns County Sheriffโs Office said. Deputies said they were called about 1:30 a.m. to a home on Solano Cay Circle, near the intersection of A1A and Solano Road, where they found two teenagers, ages 17 and 18, dead of gunshot wounds inside a bedroom. According to the Sheriffโs Office, the deaths of the teens were initially investigated as a murder-suicide but deputies were not looking for any suspects. On Monday, the Sheriffโs Office called the first death a homicide instead while investigating if any intent was involved in the initial shooting. The Sheriffโs Office said the medical examiner will be conducting autopsies to determine the cause and manner of the deaths.
Man arrested in Gainesville questioned about Lake Butler homicide
LAKE BUTLER, Fla. โ Union County deputies and Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents investigating the shooting death of 65-year-old Ralph Gary Anderson arrested a man they consider their primary suspect in the homicide. A call by concerned neighbors Monday evening prompted deputies to find Anderson dead of a single gunshot wound in his home on SE 6th Street, across from Lake Butler Middle School. Early Tuesday morning, deputies and FDLE agents served search warrants at the Lake Butler home of Donnie Crawford, 42, who was one of a few visitors to Anderson's home on Sunday evening, according to witnesses. With the help of Gainesville police and the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrested Crawford on charges of grand theft and burglary and questioned him about Anderson's death. Crawford was ordered held on $65,000 bond in Alachua County until he can be transferred to Union County.
