The Dolphins moved quickly to fill their vacancy, hiring Tara Singleton as just the second head women's lacrosse coach in program history.

The Jacksonville University Beach Volleyball Team welcomes our River City Live host on to the court to dust the rust off and take a swing at the sand game. The Dolphins just wrapped up their season with Head Coach Dylan Hough at helm and are now off for a few weeks for a well deserve summer break. During our visit, Coach Hough shared with us not only the differences in the indoor vs outdoor game, but also a big step the JU athletic department took last year in dividing the coaching staff. This allows coaches and players to focus on the nuances and skills of their individual game and further elevate their level of play! Hough holds his athletes to high standards on and off the court with the team posting a 3.65 GPA this academic year.

After winning the ASUN conference championship, the #17 JU Dolphins are looking to take it to the next level in the NCAA tournament, starting Friday.

In the history of Jacksonville sports, there are a few teams who wore the title of Cinderella particularly well. The 1970 Jacksonville University basketball team. The 1996 Jaguars. And now, you can add the 2021 JU baseball team to the list.

The NFL changed its rules on jersey numbers players can use for the 2021 season. And with the opening of rookie minicamp on Friday, the Dolphins have obviously assigned numbers to their players.

Jordan Mincy was introduced as the new men's basketball coach at JU on Friday. Mincy vowed to JU players on Friday that they would win and be a part of a program that they’re proud to call their own. And there’s a lot of good coaches, but it’s about finding the right person for your place, and Jordan’s that.”

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University is filling its basketball vacancy with a coach from just down the road in Gainesville. Jordan Mincy, an assistant at the University of Florida, is the Dolphins new head basketball coach, the school announced on Thursday. Mincy, 34, spent the past six seasons as an assistant on Mike White’s coaching staff at Florida. “I can’t wait to get to work as we start writing the next chapter in Jacksonville basketball history,” Mincy said in a release. Jasick was hired in 2014 to replace Cliff Warren, the most successful coach in JU history.

The Buccaneers defeated the Packers 31-26 to advance to the Super Bowl. Tampa Bay (14-5) is the first team to play a Super Bowl in its home stadium. The prize is much different this year, though, because the Super Bowl will be played in front of a far smaller crowd than usual. The first Super Bowl in 1967 was played in front of 61,946 fans at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Eagles backup Nick Foles threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns, a sign of things to come in the Super Bowl against New England.

They do have a sack in an NFL-record 71 straight games and have sacked Philip Rivers 15 times during seven games while he played for the Chargers. Rivers has had two or more TD passes in five straight games. He had career bests of 10 catches for 163 yards last week, and Ridley's seven 100-yard games lead the NFL. The 19 straight seasons without losing both games to a divisional opponent is an NFL record. The Jaguars have allowed at least 24 points in each of those 13 games, an NFL record.

But now, he’s four games into his NFL career and he’s been sacked 14 times in three games. This offense is still young and evolving and Gardner Minshew II isn’t quite there yet as a fully developed quarterback. The past two week’s he’s been jumpy in the pocket and not really settled back there.

Kicker Josh Lambo will miss Thursday night’s primetime game against the Dolphins and will be placed on injured reserve with a hip injury. Lambo will miss at least three weeks due to the injury designation. Starting center Brandon Linder will also miss the Miami game, coach Doug Marrone said on Wednesday. At TIAA Bank Field, Lambo has been automatic. He is 74 for 78 in his career with the Jaguars, including a career-long of 57 yards in 2018.

The theory that NFL teams would go with three quarterbacks to start the pandemic-impacted season took a hit Saturday. Lots of third-stringers were sent packing as the 32 teams got down to the 53-man limit. "The most important thing is to kind of move forward and not look back, Dolphins coach Brian Flores said. Georgia linebacker Tae Crowder, the final player taken in April's draft, is on the roster. As a child growing up in Georgia, it was always my dream to play in the NFL, Watson wrote on social media.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In a stunning Tuesday morning announcement, Jacksonville University said that it will no longer play football and will discontinue its Division I program, effective immediately. JU’s football program debuted in 1998 and participated in the non-scholarship Pioneer Football League. The university will offer full-tuition scholarships to every football student-athlete who chooses to stay at JU until graduation and will honor the employment agreements for all football coaches. And we are offering them a full-tuition scholarship, which not one football player currently has today because we don’t play scholarship football," Cost said. “It would have just been shocking.”Some JU football players have already received calls from other schools about joining their teams.
