The Jacksonville Sheriffs Office said it responded about 5:45 a.m. to the shooting on West 4th Street at Madison Street and found the man with a single gunshot wound. He was expected to be OK.Police said the shooter, described as a man between 20 and 30 years old, was last seen running from the scene. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the victim and the shooter know each other and police were working to determine the relationship between the two. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Some Downtown Jacksonville streets were closed off by officers with the Sheriff’s Office on Thursday night due to an investigation. Elections officials are setting up sites to prepare for the expected crowds Monday when early voting starts in Jacksonville and across most of Florida. It is expected that a new early voting site at the Prime Osborn Convention Center will be one of the most popular of the 20 sites in Duval County, but is causing a stir with a neighboring Northwest Jacksonville neighborhood. People like Schree Gray, who lives near EWC, said moving that site is a problem for voters in that area. It needs to be closer so we could vote, because some of us don’t have cars,” Gray said. Pastor Reginald Gundy has been voicing concern about removal of the site.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A family is pleading for answers in the killing of a Jacksonville teen. Tiffany Hogan shed tears while holding onto the fence where her 19-year-old son, Shedrick Haynes, was found early Saturday morning after being shot. Haynes had at least one gunshot wound, but police said it is unclear where the shooting happened. Hogan said her loving son recently found out he was going to be a father. Family members are urging anyone who has any information about Haynes death to come forward so they can have justice.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A young boy in Jacksonville's Grand Park area is recovering from a gunshot wound to his leg. The shooting happened in the area of Flag Street and Kings Road. The Jacksonville Sheriff Office said officers responded to the scene just after 10 p.m.Police said the boy was approached and shot by a man wearing a red, white and blue jacket. If the police have to come from a substation to respond to a shot, the people are already gone.
