The driver of the semitruck — a 62-year-old Lithia Springs, Georgia, woman — suffered serious injuries in the crash, which happened shortly after 4 a.m., troopers said. According to the Highway Patrol, the vehicle was traveling east on I-10 when the driver lost control and struck the center concrete barrier. Multiple eastbound and westbound lanes of I-10 were blocked following the crash. According to the Highway Patrol, the driver was not wearing a seat belt.

Troopers said the Jacksonville Fire truck was heading eastbound on Interstate 10, west of Lenox Avenue when the driver lost control of the truck, which caused it to veer right. The FHP report shows the firetruck went hit the guardrail, went through it and onto the grass shoulder, where it overturned. The driver was the only one in the firetruck when it overturned and no one else was hurt.
