News4Jax teams up with TPC to support local veterans
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ Every year The Players Championship pays tribute to veteran and the men and women serving our country through its Military Appreciation Day. The annual golf tournament had to cancel its traditional ceremony and concert due to public health concerns. News4Jax and The Players are teaming up for a fundraiser to help local groups that support our military, including the Wounded Warrior Project and The Fire Watch, a nonprofit that aims to identify and help veterans and service members in crisis. The mission is simple: raise money for nonprofit groups such as the Wounded Warrior Project and The Fire Watch, to end veteran suicide and give veterans the resources they need. Then let us know how you plan to make a difference in our community, whether itโs through Match4Military or another way.

Wounded warriors ride for recovery
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ Wounded warriors from around the area pushed themselves to the limit and cycled 18-miles on the roads of Jacksonville on Friday. This yearโs Soldier Ride began and ended from the Wounded Warrior Projectโs headquarters on A.C. Skinner Parkway. Since the beginning of the global pandemic, wounded warriors have been tireless in their efforts to maintain momentum in their recovery despite the disruptions in their daily routines. As the nation slowly opens back up, so too is the Wounded Warrior Project programing and Fridayโs event allows recovering veterans to get outside and get active while still maintaining social distance. Soldier Ride uses adaptive cycling technology to help wounded veterans redefine their limitations and become well-adjusted in mind and body.
