Former Edward Waters football coach says school president wanted to fire him last year
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Greg Ruffin confirmed to News4Jax on Monday that he was fired as the head coach of Edward Waters’ football team on Friday. Ruffin also says that Faison was upset that the coach had been a candidate for the Savannah State coaching job two years prior. Florida, Notre Dame schedule home-and-home series in 2031-32

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida and Notre Dame have scheduled a home-and-home series for the 2031 and 2032 football seasons. Notre Dame will travel to Gainesville early the following year. The programs have met just once, with Notre Dame rallying to beat Florida in 39-28 in the 1992 Sugar Bowl. The Gators have home-and-home series scheduled with Texas, Utah, Cal, Colorado, Arizona State and North Carolina State.
Former Gamecocks coach Muschamp lands at Georgia as analyst
Smart said Wednesday that Muschamp, also a former Florida head coach, will focus on defense. He played at Georgia as a defensive back from 1991-94 and is a former defensive coordinator at Auburn, Louisiana State and Texas. “It's very valuable to have a guy who has been a head coach in two different places in our conference,” Smart said. “He’s going to be able to help coach the coaches.”Muschamp's role as analyst may be only a short-term situation. Another former Georgia player and assistant coach, Mike Bobo, served as South Carolina's interim coach after Muschamp was fired.

Electronic Arts’ college football videogame franchise is set to return after a long and painful absence from the gaming landscape. EA Sports announced the move Tuesday afternoon“College Football is coming back.”EA Sports vice president and general manager, Daryl Holt, told ESPN that the development of the game is in its beginning stages and that there’s no date planned for a launch, only that it wouldn’t be this year. The final game was made in 2013 with Michigan athlete and eventual Jaguars draft pick Denard Robinson on the cover of “NCAA Football 2014.”When EA Sports halted making the game, largely due to lawsuits about paying players for their likenesses, that 2014 game became a collectors item and went for double and triple its initial MSRP on auction sites like Ebay.

Jones’ teammate, receiver DeVonta Smith, earned the annual award, given to college football’s top player. Tebow was a three-time Heisman finalist. Those passing totals rank second in college football, trailing only Florida’s Kyle Trask (4,283 yards, 43 TDs), a fellow Heisman finalist. Another Alabama alum, running back Derrick Henry, is the only other area player to earn a Heisman finalist spot.
