A man has been arrested nearly a year after another man was fatally shot in Northwest Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car early Sunday morning while crossing Interstate 95 at Golfair Boulevard, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police said the sound of gunfire picked up by Shot Spotter brought police to a convenience store on Moncrief Road at Golfair Boulevard about 1 p.m. Friday. Homicide detectives said a man shot multiple times behind the business ran a short distance before collapsing. Adam Blinn said the gunman was seen leaving in a white Volvo sedan, heading north on Moncrief. Blinn said the two men knew each other and agreed to meet there. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 59-year-old Jacksonville man died Sunday after a motorcycle he was driving collided with a car in North Jacksonville. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the unidentified driver of the motorcycle was traveling southbound in the outside travel lane on Interstate 95 approaching Golfair Boulevard when he collided with another vehicle. The collision caused the motorcycle driver to fall into the roadway, according to FHP. The driver was taken to UF Health where he was pronounced dead. The investigation is still ongoing and charges are pending, according to FHP.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Florida Highway Patrol rushed to the scene of a crash on I-95 and Golfair Boulevard, where a yellow truck flipped on its side. Northbound lanes were reduced to one lane of traffic as authorities checked out the crash. All lanes are now cleared. No injuries have been reported.

Responding officers found an outdoor scene on Moncrief Road near Golfair Boulevard around 2:22 a.m. Detectives learned that two victims had been shot. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - An elderly man was shot outside of a Brentwood gas station Wednesday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Police said the man was leaving the gas station on Golfair Boulevard when he was robbed and shot. The man was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say the shooter took the man's belongings, then fled on foot in an unknown direction. Investigators believe there is a working surveillance system inside of the gas station.
