Jacksonville’s PorchFest has returned Saturday after last year’s “Porch Fest Reimagined” was impacted by a nor’easter.

It probably comes as little surprise to many that the 2019 JaxBest choice for best local historic neighborhood is Springfield.

Porchfest makes a return to Historic Springfield this weekend after a year long hiatus. While attendees can expect the same great neighborhood vibe with plenty of music, food and more...the main focus will be on the east side of the neighborhood. With 25 acts on a number of featured porches from noon to 8pm, the vibe will be engaging and infectious. With the addition of multiple businesses on Main and Pearl Streets, attendees are invited to stay for Porchfest After Dark. Rance made a stop at one of the headline act houses to find out more about this weekend’s activities.

In addition to 50+ food and art vendors, more than 20 bands will be playing from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday, November 6, 2021.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - It was a busy Saturday in Springfield as the neighborhood hosted the sixth annual PorchFest, an event that draws a lot of local musical acts to different porches in the historic neighborhood and attracts a lot of families. Springfield is a great neighborhood," Springfield resident Alex Murphy said. Locals showed up and could get maps to learn about one of the most historic neighborhoods in the city as musicians from local acts belted out tunes on porch after porch. I think everybody that lives here makes an effort and really wants to be here, so it's an incredibly inclusive, diverse, happy neighborhood to live in, honestly," Murphy said. The event raised money for the Springfield Preservation and Restoration Society, specifically its arts programming and education fund.
