JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One employee was shot and another was robbed late Monday night at a Taco Bell on the Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The employee who was shot was taken to the hospital but is expected to survive. According to police, a man entered the restaurant on 103rd street, west of Interstate 295, just before 11:30 p.m. to rob the business. During that holdup, the employee was shot then another employee was individually robbed. The Taco Bell is believed to have surveillance cameras and images from Florida Department of Transportation cameras posted throughout 103rd street could help police identify the criminal.

News outlets report 32-year-old Mia Williams was arrested Thursday and charged with premeditated homicide, aggravated assault on an officer and resisting arrest with violence. The victim was attacked Wednesday night and was still in the hospital as of Friday. Police are trying to determine if Williams is connected to several other fires that occurred hours later near the Taco Bell, including a church that was completely destroyed. WTXL-TV in Tallahassee reported that Williams changed her name officially through Leon County courts in 2014.

In a news release, the USDA reports some Taco Bell ground beef may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically metal shavings. IRVINE, Calif. - About 2 million pounds of seasoned beef used in Taco Bell burritos and tacos have been removed from restaurant locations across the country. By Monday, 100% of the product had been removed from all restaurants across 21 states, a Taco bell news release said. The beef products were produced from September 20 to October 4, the USDA said. The recall comes a few months after Taco Bell announced it was experiencing supplier shortages of tortillas and was "working diligently to replenish the supply."

PALM SPRINGS, California (CNN) - Taco Bell's latest marketing venture, a pop-up hotel, opened at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on Thursday. The resort has been called "The Bell: A Taco Bell Hotel and Resort." Or, as Taco Bell executive Jennifer Arnoldt said in a statement: "We're excited to give a peek into Taco Bell's first hotel that is truly Taco Bell luxury at a value as we evolve how fans can celebrate with the brand this summer and beyond." Guests will wake up to a room service breakfast and dine on a variety of tacos, burritos, and other cheesy items throughout the day -- catered by Taco Bell, of course.
