That’s five straight losses for the Jaguars and Sunday’s 34-16 clunker may have been the worst among all those defeats. We know the defense struggles, but you can’t score 16 points in the NFL and expect to win. I know the defense gave up nearly 200 yards on the ground and a lot of points, but this loss was on the offense. I think the overall consensus at this point is that Minshew is not a franchise quarterback. We know the defense is going to give up points week after week.

The Jaguars (1-4) host Detroit (1-3) on Sunday and plan to play as scheduled, but as a precaution, the Jaguars will be conducting all football-related activities remotely. The Jaguars are the fourth NFL team to deal with COVID issues in recent days, joining Atlanta, Indianapolis and New England. The Colts had four positive tests that came up negative upon retesting. Coach Doug Marrone listed Chark as questionable for the game. If he can’t play, Chark would be sidelined for the second time in four weeks.

The Patriots went back to work Saturday, Oct. 17, one day after a fifth player on the team tested positive for COVID-19 and one day before their twice-postponed game against the Denver Broncos. The Broncos had COVID-19 news of their own Saturday: Running backs coach Curtis Modkins has tested positive and won’t make the trip to New England. Elsewhere, the Jacksonville Jaguars said that a practice-squad player tested positive. The Jaguars also placed defensive end Josh Mauro on the regular COVID-19 list. The Falcons had to shut their facility Thursday but reopened Friday after one nonplayer tested positive.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Another bad loss and more of the same in how it looked. Asking a young offense to go up and down the field and swap touchdown for touchdown isn’t fair. But now, he’s four games into his NFL career and he’s been sacked 14 times in three games. This offense is still young and evolving and Gardner Minshew II isn’t quite there yet as a fully developed quarterback. The past two week’s he’s been jumpy in the pocket and not really settled back there.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After getting a big win against the Colts to start the season, the Jaguars have turned the page and are back to work preparing for another rival. The Jaguars' rivalry with the Titans has been rather one-sided when the games are played in Nashville. He may need to have a few more this week if the jaguars are going to slow down Titans running back Derrick Henry. The Jaguars split with the Titans last season, winning 20-7 at home on Thursday night football and getting routed 42-20 at Tennessee. Jacksonville is 9-16 all-time on the road against the Titans, with a 2-0 mark against the former Houston Oilers factored in.

We’ve heard so much about how bad this team is supposed to be and the players hear that, too. Until you get those young players in game action, you just don’t know how they’re going to perform. As young as the Jaguars are and rookies are playing like they did against the Colts, that is very comforting for me going forward. There were three times during the game where I saw a significant change in how Minshew performed compared to last year. Winning in Week 1 doesn’t change my long-term outlook for the Jaguars this season.

From Day 1, it was always our goal, but we had to consider safety, said Johnson. TIAA Bank Field will be limited to 25% capacity, which is around 17,000 fans. But even with fewer fans attending games, the Jaguars have added additional game day staff to help enforce the new safety protocols. 1 thing we need from our fans, so we have actually added staff to enforce that, Johnson said. Seven games to play with a good shot at getting a wildcard spot in the playoffs. A win against the Colts would’ve kept the Jaguars in contention. Not impossible, of course, but it’s highly unlikely that the Jaguars have a chance for the postseason. Nick Foles had a good first drive, but regressed after that first touchdown pass to D.J. And if there ever was a game this season that the team needed to win, next Sunday against the Titans is it.

The return of Nick Foles was supposed to be the launching point to the second half of the season. Instead, it put a stamp on just how much work lies in front for the Jaguars to become a competitive NFL team. The Jaguars (4-6) needed to close the season out strong to have a shot to reach the playoffs. The pair of 100-yard rushers marked the first time that the Colts had done that in franchise history. Brissett added a 5-yayrd rushing touchdown A 48-yard run by Williams on the following drive set up a Nyheim Hines 7-yard touchdown run and the blowout was on.

4 keys for Jaguars to beat Broncos

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - If everything falls right for the Jaguars, they could find themselves tied atop the division after this weekend. If the Jaguars beat the Broncos and the Texans and Colts both lose, all three teams would be 2-2 on the season. Here are my four biggest keys to the Jaguars victory:Give Minshew time. It's always easier to block out the noise after a win and it appears that this year's Jaguars team may be more resilient than last year's edition. While the Broncos are a slight favorite, the Jaguars have the momentum.
