Karim Zabaneh crowned winner of โOh Say Can You Singโ competition
Four talented singers competed Thursday night in the โOh Say Can You Singโ finale at 1904 Music Hall, for a chance to sing the national anthem just before the fireworks display over the St. Johns River on the Fourth of July. At the end of the night, Karim Zabaneh was crowned the winner! In addition to singing the national anthem during Channel 4โฒs โRed, White and Boomโ special, Zabaneh receives a $500 prize. Like most annual events and milestones that should have happened for the past few months, the 2020 โOh Say Can You Singโ contest was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Unlike previous years, open audition calls that usually created long lines at local malls and gathering places had to be moved online.

Smallest contestant stands tallest in Oh Say Can You Sing finale
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Even though she was the youngest competitor, 9-year-old Amara Powell stood taller than the rest Wednesday evening at the Oh Say Can You Sing finale. The Jacksonville girl belted out all the notes to Alicia Keys' "Girl on Fire" she needed to win over the competitions judges and audience alike to claim the $500 grand prize and the opportunity of a lifetime. "I don't forget the words," said Amara, who noted that she's not at all nervous about the opportunity.
90 audition for 2017 'Oh Say Can You Sing' contest
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ Ninety talented people on Tuesday auditioned for "Oh Say Can You Sing," Channel 4's annual singing competition. So it's very nerve-wracking to see her do it," said Tammy Lynch, whose daughter, Olivia Lynch, auditioned. Then, four finalists will be chosen to sing live on a June 29 primetime special.
