Around 12:05 a.m., according to the Sheriff’s Office, officers were called to shots fired at a gas station on Kings Road at Barnett Street. A short time later, the Sheriff’s Office said, police were notified that two men arrived at an area hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A shooting in the back parking lot of a Checkers Drive-In Restaurant on Kings Road left Sunday afternoon left one man dead and one man critically injured, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Arriving officers found two men in their early 20s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside their black four-door sedan. JSO is working to identify these men and notify their next of kin. "I think they are just stopping people who are coming through, trying to identify. There are family members that have come towards trying to find out if these are their family members or not.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Firefighters were called to extinguish a fire Thursday night in Jacksonvilles Durkeeville neighborhood. According to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, one person was rescued. The apartment complex is on Palafox Street just north of Kings Road. The fire was brought under control within a few minutes.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A 34-year-old man was arrested Monday and charged with murder in the Oct. 13 shooting death outside the Sunoco station on Kings Road near Myrtle Avenue. Jacksonville Sheriff's Office investigators believe Henry McKinnon walked up a 31-year-old man about 3 p.m. and fired several shots. The victim, whose name will not be released, was taken to a hospital, where he died, police said. Homicide detectives initially had no information about a motive for the shooting or if the men knew each other. In addition to murder, McKinnon was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The Jacksonville Sheriff Office said officers responded to the scene just after 10 p.m.Police said the boy was approached and shot by a man wearing a red, white and blue jacket. If the police have to come from a substation to respond to a shot, the people are already gone.
