Let’s officially talk Halloween.

The best part about Halloween might be dressing up in a silly costume and loading up on pounds of your favorite candy, but for some, it’s all about watching endless hours of Halloween movies. That’s why Freeform is the hottest channel to visit during the month of October, because it has its annual “31 Nights of Halloween," and the network finally released its schedule of movies. The month-long marathon kicks off with the unofficial best Halloween movie ever created, “Hocus Pocus,” which stars Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker. Even though the film came out almost 30 years ago, millennials everywhere have given it a second life due to the nostalgia factor. Other classic Halloween films you’ll be able to watch include both “Addams Family” movies, “Beetlejuice,” “Ghostbusters” and “Casper.”Freeform didn’t forget about the kids.

AMC Theatres, the nation’s largest movie theater chain, will reopen in the U.S. on Thursday, Aug. 20. To celebrate, guests at two Jacksonville locations will be able to enjoy the magic of the movies at AMC for 1920 prices: just $0.15 (plus sales tax). AMC confirmed that Disney’s much-delayed “New Mutants” will debut in theaters Aug. 28, with Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet” to follow Sept. 3. AMC is also offering an array of $5 food and beverage treats, including regular popcorn, regular Coca-Cola Freestyle drink and KidsPacks, through the end of October. And all AMC Stubs members will earn double points on all ticket and food & drink purchases through the end of October.

Since there’s likely to be a good chunk of people who will watch “Hamilton” over the weekend who’ve probably never seen it before, here is a quick rundown of what you need to know before experiencing the phenomenon. The “Hamilton” on Disney+ is a filmed version of the show, not a movie. It’s easy to call the version of “Hamilton” coming out on Disney+ a movie, but technically, it’s the stage version, filmed. An actual movie version of “Hamilton” will probably happen eventually, but this is a great way to really capture the magic of the stage version of the show. And because the people at Disney are incredibly smart, free trials of the streaming service have ended, so if you want to watch, you’re going to have to sign up.

Now more than ever it’s so important to lift up and amplify black artists and creators, which is why a new film festival was created to do just that. The inaugural Black Life Film Fest will take place Sept. 5, and luckily for people who are interested in watching the selected films, the film festival will happen virtually, from the comfort of your home. Swirl Films and Mansa Productions are producing the festival, and the people there are asking for short film submissions that fit any kind of category. From documentaries and comedies to drama or animation -- as long as the film shows the black experience, it is eligible for submission. Netflix‘13th’Directed by Ava DuVernay (she’ll come up again in this list), the documentary shows you how America changed after the 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery, but also kickstarted the prison boom in America. ‘Moonlight’This Oscar-winning picture tells the story of a young black gay man living in Miami. chronicles the Central Park Five, a group of young black teenagers who were wrongfully convicted of a crime they didn’t commit. The documentary tells the story of the days of protests, unrest and riots that followed. It’s a great film that shows how two different groups of people can react to fatal police shootings.

The new British film Military Wives is a refreshing change and was inspired by real events that led to the creation of choirs at military bases around the world. She steps on the toes of these women -- led by Sharon Horgan (Game Night) -- who are more interested in holding informal get-togethers featuring alcohol rather than structured events. Military Wives is ably directed by Peter Cattaneo, who back in 1997 made, The Full Monty, an unexpected worldwide hit about six unemployed British men who band together to put on a male-stripper show. Military Wives winds up being an entertaining, inspiring and feel-good movie thats worth checking out.

The release date is set for Nov. 22, but it will be showing in a theatre near you on Thursday! While details about the film remain shrouded in secrecy for the time being, most of the original Frozen original cast members are expected to return, including Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, and more. In addition to the original cast members, Frozen directors, Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, are expected to return at the helm of the sequel. The original Frozen hit theaters in 2013, becoming an instant classic amongst both diehard Disney fans and casual moviegoers alike. Frozen went on to become not only Disney’s highest-grossing animated film but also the highest-grossing animated movie of all time – period.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences honored each screenwriter at the Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting awards and presentation on Thursday night. "If it wasn't for the academy and my friends, I wouldn't be here," she said. Winners will receive guidance from academy members as they complete a feature-length screenplay during their fellowship year. Since 1986, the competition has awarded hundreds of fellowships, aiming to identify and encourage talented new screenwriters. The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards mark the unofficial beginning of the entertainment awards season, and this year the #MeToo movement has helped cast attention on sexual harassment, violence and gender inequality. With the door wide open for “John Wick 4,” the filmmakers just need to remember to keep it fresh.

That's exactly what co-directors/co-writers Rich Moore and Phil Johnson have masterfully achieved with their new animated feature "Ralph Breaks the Internet," the long-anticipated sequel to the 2012 Oscar-nominated blockbuster "Wreck-It Ralph." In "Ralph Breaks the Internet," opening Wednesday in theaters nationwide, we find Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope within the 8-bit video game arcade from the first movie, until a crucial component breaks on her "Sugar Rush" game. While "Ralph Breaks the Internet" is big on comedy and action, Moore and Johnston astutely took the opportunity to use the film to address the ever-growing problem of the vitriol people encounter on social media. The directors felt that including a scene about Ralph being cyberbullied on social media was an absolute necessity. "We said, 'We don't want to just show good things about the internet and what's fun about the internet and what are the positive things.'

She will return as the newly-revived Elektra in Marvel's superhero mashup "The Defenders, " and in a pivotal role opposite Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson in the high-energy action comedy "The Hitman's Bodyguard." In a phone conversation from Los Angeles Tuesday, Yung said she's certain her role in "Daredevil" and reprisal of it in "The Defenders" had something to do with her being cast in "The Hitman's Bodyguard," but not necessarily for the kick-butt skills she's known for. Perhaps the biggest departure on "The Hitman’s Bodyguard" from Yung's previous work was not only that the film was a comedy, but that she had a chance to help create the laughs.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Action-packed drama collides with betrayal and a baby in "The Fate of the Furious." While Dominic goes rogue, people from his past are forced to re-enter his life and he's a dad. 'Furious' is packed with more action than the submarine barreling toward the faithful furious in the movie trailer. Producers went above par to make this film memorable, with car collisions that could only be possible in the eighth film. Its difficult to maintain a believable story line, action and humor, but the faithful furious do it.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –Being a kid in the 1990s involved Nintendo, Uno and Power Rangers. Now those Power Rangers are back on the screen in theaters this weekend. The movie "Power Rangers" is set in small town Angel Grove where five teenagers accidentally find five magic crystals. The downside, the editing doesn't always flow and those subpar special effects fighting scenes from the '90s are back! It's family friendly for 99 percent of the film but parents should be there with the little ones for the scary moments.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The plot: Casey (Nicholas Hoult) meets his dream girl and decides to give up a life of working for drug smugglers. Casey goes back to the street life one final time to steal enough money to save Juliette. Casey attempts to steal from Hagen Kahl (Anthony Hopkins), a successful businessman who lives a double life as a drug smuggler. After the plan fails, Casey depends on his old drug boss Geran (Ben Kingsley) to protect his girlfriend. This story is unbelievable because there is no way Casey gets away from the bad guys over and over again unless he's 007.

But for film star Colin Farrell, there was no hesitation committing to the lead role in his latest film, "Winter's Tale," given the first-timer was Oscar-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman. Capturing the essence of "Winter's Tale," as Farrell describes, wasn't easy. "Winter's Tale" boasts an impressive cast, including Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, William Hurt and Eva Marie Saint. While in the midst of filming, in fact, Farrell viewed New York City as more of a character in "Winter's Tale" than just a setting. Making the film complete for Farrell, 37, was his first opportunity to work with Brown Findlay.

Have fun at the movies in 2012. Wiig plays Annie, a hapless maid of honor to her best friend, Lillian (Maya Rudolph). The film during its theatrical release was criticized by some for being too cynical, but truthfully, it's not cynical enough. "The Help" -- Writer-director Tate Taylor's adaptation of Kathryn Stockett's best seller Emma Stone features the best ensemble cast of the year. A brilliant ode to a bygone era, "The Artist" is by far the most unique -- and entertaining -- film of the year.
