Clay County Fair returns with full capacity, safety protocols in place
GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. โ When the 35th annual Clay County Fair kicks off on Thursday, it will be the first major event to have full-capacity crowds in Northeast Florida in more than a year. While the fair will welcome thousands back to the Clay County Fairgrounds, safety measures will be in place. Itโs been such a hurdle to get the gates open and we are so excited to be back,โ said General Manager Tasha Hyder. โEverything that youโre used to seeing at the Clay County Fair is going to be here,โ said Hyder. There will be several safety measures in place, including more sanitization and hand washing stations, additional signage, and increased cleaning.
Clay County Strawberry Festival offers family fun this weekend

The event will feature Plant City strawberries, art and crafts, delicious food, free bounce houses, organic strawberries, live entertainment, pony rides, face painting, sack races, train rides and much more. The event will take place on March 6 & 7 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.General admission is $6. No pets are allowed at this event, only trained service animals. Ascension St. Vincentโs to vaccinate 2,500 at Clay County Fairgrounds
GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. โ Ascension St. Vincentโs will be holding a COVID-19 vaccination event for Clay County residents age 65 and older from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at the Clay County Fairgrounds, the county announced Thursday. Clay County prepares to vaccinate thousands of residents starting Monday
CLAY COUNTY, Fla. โ Clay County is preparing to vaccinate thousands of people outside the Clay County Fairgrounds starting Monday. First, after you get a shot you will have to go on the county website and schedule a second shot yourself. The county website to sign up is Alert.claycountygov.com, but at this point, the website does not have the option to schedule a second round of vaccines. The rest of the residents received vaccines through a federal contract and those doses were administered by a pharmacy. Thousands enjoy โfood, fun & flicksโ at Clay County Fairgrounds
CLAY COUNTY, Fla. โ Thousands of people went out to the Clay County Fairgrounds this weekend to enjoy โfood, fun and flicks." After the Clay County Agricultural Fair was canceled in the spring due to COVID-19, the Clay County Fair Association hosted a smaller, three-day event this weekend. โTimes are uncertain right now, so itโs great what we did have and that people came out to support us. They wanted to support the vendors and have a turnout for us, so it was awesome," said Libby Swain with Swainโs Pizza on a Stick. It was a great time," Hyder said.
After COVID-19 spring cancellation, modified version of Clay County Fair kicking off Friday
CLAY COUNTY, Fla. โ Great memories have been made at the Clay County Fair for generations. Crews are now setting up for this yearโs event at the Clay County Fairgrounds, set to kick off Friday and last through Sunday. The Clay County Fair Association wants to make it clear that because the actual fair was canceled in spring, this is a special, modified version for families to enjoy. โIโm not a n emotional person, but I shed some tears when we made that final call to cancel the fair,โ Hyder said. Theyโre 10 feet by 10 feet, and 6 feet away from other groups.
Scottish Games return to Clay County Fairgrounds
CLAY COUNTY, Fla. โ The Northeast Florida Scottish Games and Festival is returning to the Clay County Fairgrounds next weekend. In addition to the athletic competition, there will be dancers, bagpipes and drum competitions. The event will be held at the fairgrounds in Green Cove Springs on Feb. 27. Admission is $12 in advance and $15 at the gate. Advance tickets are available online at www.neflgames.com.
