3 weeks out, details scarce for Georgia-Florida game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The annual Georgia-Florida game is just 22 days from now, and with COVID-19, this year will be the quietest in history. As of now, Jacksonville’s most attended game will have about 20% to 25% capacity, much like Jaguars games. Gators and Bulldogs will each get about half the tickets to sell, with some going to sponsors and the city. There will be no RV City, no Bold City Bash, no concerts before the game, and tailgating in public lots is discouraged, according to city leaders. Three weeks before kickoff, leaders from the city and both schools are still finalizing plans and have not released many more details about gameday operations.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fans will notice some changes around TIAA Bank Field this year when the Florida Gators go head-to-head with the Georgia Bulldogs for their annual matchup. According to a news release Friday from the city, this year’s game will take place with limited capacity. Additionally, RV City and ancillary events such as the Hall of Fame luncheon and Duuuval’s Bold City Bash aren’t happening in 2020. The game at TIAA Bank Field is on Nov. 7 at 3:30 p.m. The annual tradition first started playing in Jacksonville back in 1933.

Spirits were high as the gates to RV City opened at 8 a.m. Tuesday. The Mcveighs said theyve been setting up in RV City for nearly four decades. "We get along good, weve met some really nice folks down here, some of my best friends are Florida fans," Clark said. Entrance to RV City is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Countdown is on for Bold City Bash, Florida-Georgia game

From the annual Hall of Fame induction to a Friday night block party, Duuuval's Bold City Bash will keep the fun rolling right up to kickoff. Weekend festivities for Duuuval's Bold City Bash will begin Friday, Nov. 1, with the Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame Induction ceremony and luncheon presented by Miller Electric Company. The fan experience continues on Friday evening with the Duuuval's Bold City Bash Block Party along Adams Street and A. Philip Randolph Boulevard. Duuuval's Bold City Bash will continue on Saturday with game-day festivities in Daily's Place Flex Field. The Bash will culminate with one of the most storied rivalries in the nation -- the Florida-Georgia game.

Jacksonville plans 'Ultimate Fan Experience' for Florida-Georgia game

The city of Jacksonville is calling Duuuval's Bold City Bash the ultimate Florida-Georgia fan experience and WJXT, The Local Station, is a proud sponsor of the events. "The Florida-Georgia game is one of college football's most storied rivalries and has deep roots in our community," Mayor Lenny Curry said. The fan experience continues on Friday evening with the Duuuval's Bold City Bash Block Party along Adams Street and A. Philip Randolph Boulevard. That night, the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville will host the Gators vs. Dawgs Fall Exhibition Baseball Game. Tickets for the baseball game, concert and fireworks are $15 plus fees and will go on sale Sept. 3.
