Dunkin’ gives more than 50 dozen doughnuts, gift cards to Wolfson Children’s Hospital staff
Dunkin’ of Jacksonville on Wednesday gave more than 50 dozen doughnuts to Wolfson Children’s Hospital nurses and staff. The coffee and baked goods company also presented $3,750 in gift cards to nurses at the hospital in Jacksonville.
NICU babies at Wolfson Children’s Hospital celebrate Halloween
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Babies in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at Wolfson Children’s Hospital of Jacksonville celebrated Halloween in adorable style this year. The tiny tots were dressed as adorable treats such as Jif peanut butter, jelly, Chick-fil-A and more. The team will dress up the babies in costumes on Saturday and post more photos on the Wolfson Children’s Hospital Facebook page. It was definitely a sweet treat for parents and staff. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Looking for a safe way to raise money to support healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, Adarsh Aratikatla along with classmate Javier Neret came up with the idea of using a drive-in movie theater to help Wolfson Children’s Hospital. After months of planning, Aratikatla, an incoming senior at the Bolles School and co-founder of the Wolfson Children’s Hospital Club, is planning to host the first movie showing in an empty parking lot at The Markets at Town Center. “I think this will be a fun event where people can bring their families and also you can watch a movie. None of the movie theaters are open right now so it’ll be a fun experience.”The group plans to show “Back to the Future” to about 60 people who donated nearly $800 to Wolfson Children’s Hospital. The group plans to show classic movies like “Goonies” and “Ferris Buller’s Day Off.”The group is not selling tickets for the events, but they are asking for free-will donations.

Wolfson Children's Hospital throws Toy Story-themed Halloween party
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - As much of the River City celebrated Halloween, the staff at Wolfson Children's Hospital spread some joy for kids as well. One floor of the hospital threw a Toy Story-themed party on Halloween. And, of course, there were lots of pictures of babies in the NICU dressed up for Halloween! Health department confirms measles in unimmunized Jacksonville child
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Health confirmed last week that an unimmunized child in Jacksonville has contracted measles. "A child was brought to Wolfson Children's ER and was confirmed positive for measles by the Florida Department of Health." Father of teen with vaping illness says state vaping investigation not enough
Pantazi was in the hospital two weeks ago with his 17-year-old son Dallas who was diagnosed with a vaping related illness. Tom Pantazi said Dallas did have asthma before, but it was never as severe as it is now. The Florida Department of Health reports 68 cases of vaping related illnesses in the state and at least one death. But with an estimated 1 in 4 high school students admittedly vaping, Moody said they can not wait. Though none of the vaping companies being investigated are in Northeast Florida, there are confirmed cases of vaping related illnesses in the area.
4,600 toys donated to Wolfson Children's Hospital for Christmas in July
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Santa made a stop in Jacksonville slightly ahead of schedule Thursday and handed out toys to the kids at Wolfson Children's Hospital. The hospital's annual toy drive included a visit from Jolly Old St. Nick in his red velvet suit with his sleigh of toys in tow. He went door-to-door at Wolfson Childrens Hospital, handing out toys to unsuspecting kids. During the final push Thursday morning, community members dropped off 2,598 toys outside Wolfson Childrens.
