Observant citizen spots missing Jacksonville toddler chasing ducks
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A massive search for a missing 2-year-old boy who disappeared from a TownCenter-area apartment overnight ended early Tuesday morning when a motorist headed to work spotted the boy. The child’s mother was home asleep along with one or two other siblings, according to JSO. Police began a massive effort to locate the boy, searching on foot, in vehicles, using K-9s and by helicopter. Police are stopping cars as they come and go from the apartment complex. He called the police and the child was checked out by medical responders and was found to be in good condition.
14-year-old Fernandina Beach girl found with man in Texas
FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – Nassau County deputies were searching for a teenager who left her Nassau County home sometime Saturday morning and may be with a 21-year-old from Texas who she met on the internet. On Monday evening, the Sheriff’s Office said she and the man were located safe in Texas. It said more information was forthcoming. Because the girl is no longer missing, News4Jax has removed her name from the article.
FDLE cancels missing child alert after 9-month-old found safe
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – UPDATE: This is a cancellation to the Missing Child Alert that was issued on 08/03/2020 for Noah Sims. Investigators said Sims may be traveling with 36-year-old Corey Sims. A spokesperson for Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the 36-year-old is the baby’s father. According to police, Corey Sims left a residence with his son and is refusing to return with him. Noah Sims was last seen wearing a light blue polo short, coral, casual shorts, and white sneakers.
Jacksonville police: Missing 11-year-old boy found safe
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville police announced early Tuesday morning that a missing 11-year-old boy was found safe. The Missing Child Alert was first issued about 9:10 a.m. Sunday by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. On Monday, people in the complex, where Keavon’s photo on missing posters are posted, were hopeful he’ll be found safe. “Sometimes 11-year-olds want to do what they want to do, but this is something to take very seriously because there’s a child missing,” a neighbor in the apartment complex said Monday. The FDLE canceled the Missing Child Alert about 4 a.m. Tuesday.
Missing Alachua County toddler found in Starke area
STARKE, Fla. – Authorities searching for a missing 2-year-old girl from Waldo said she was found safe in Starke on Monday. Christine Martin was believed to be with Robert Martin, 49, and Jennifer Goode, 26, according to a missing child alert issued by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. A Facebook post on the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office page was updated to say the child had been located. “The child appears fine and is currently with law enforcement officials in Starke,” the post read.
