The attorney representing the family of a 32-year-old man who was shot and killed last month by police at an Argyle Forest hotel said he has talked to two witnesses, one of whom โsaw the whole thing,โ and believes the shooting was unjustified.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ The Jacksonville Sheriffโs Office on Wednesday identified the man shot and killed by police Tuesday at an Argyle Forest hotel as 32-year-old Michael Leon Hughes. The Sheriffโs Office also addressed concerns about the shooting in a news conference Wednesday. The Sheriffโs Office said Hughes was shot by Officer J.H. According to Waters, Hughes got control of Wingโs Taser and stunned him once and then the officer fired several shots. When Hughes collapsed, Waters said, the officer handcuffed him and performed CPR until rescue personnel arrived and determined that he was dead.

Police find body floating in water on Westside
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ Jacksonville police are investigating after a body was found floating in a waterway Thursday night on the Westside. According to the Jacksonville Sheriffโs Office, police were dispatched to the area of Blanding and Argyle Forest boulevards at about 6 p.m. Investigators said someone was fishing when they found the body in the water. An autopsy will determine the cause of death. Police said they do not suspect foul play. Last Friday, police were in the same area searching for a body in a waterway, though itโs unclear if that search is related.
Power restored to nearly 20,000 after Clay Electric equipment repair

A new spot to score seafood and more has opened for business in the neighborhood. The new addition to Argyle Forest, called Rocking Crab, is located at 8635 Blanding Blvd., Suite 201. Rocking Crab specializes in Southern-style seafood dishes, most of which are served with fresh corn and potatoes. The menu features fried seafood platters and seafood boils made with shrimp, crabs, crawfish, oysters, mussels, scallops and clams. Jacksonville man indicted in murders of his mother, uncle
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A 36-year-old man accused of killing his mother and her brother in an Argyle Forest home nearly two years ago was indicted Thursday on two counts of first-degree murder. Andrew Lamb lived in the East Collins Ridge Boulevard home where the bodies of Sharon Lamb, 55, and Michael Lamb, 52, were found on Oct. 24, 2017. He was initially charged with possession of a controlled substance and is currently serving a five-year sentence for burglary. Charges of murder, armed burglary with assault and armed burglary were later added. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a safe that Sharon Lamb kept in her bedroom was missing.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UPDATE: News4Jax was notified at 1:10 a.m. that the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has identified the child found wandering in the Argyle Forest area. ORIGINAL STORY: Details were slim when the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office released a photo of a child Friday night, asking for help tracking down her parents. According to the Sheriff's Office, the young girl was found in the driveway of a home in the Argyle Forest neighborhood on Jacksonville's Westside. She said police officers have been knocking on doors in the area, and no one recognized her.
