People with disabilities have been pushed down the priority list in places like North Carolina and California, where the state reversed course after days of public pressure. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Duval County Health Department begins administering second doses Monday for people who got their vaccine at the site 28 days earlier. The vaccine site the Prime Osborn Convention Center is no longer providing first doses of the vaccine, as all public COVID-19 vaccinations in Duval County have moved to Regency Mall. But anyone who received their first dose at the convention center is asked to return at the same time 28 days later to receive their second Moderna shot. Most who were vaccinated in the first few days were Jacksonville Fire-Rescue employees and those who work for the city of Jacksonville, so they will be returning this week. Florida residents 65 or older and front-line health care workers who have not had their first shot of the vaccine can call 866-200-3762 to make an appointment at Regency.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Outside of the rush to get appointments and wait in line for a COVID-19 vaccination, there are still some people with lingering questions. Now that people are getting vaccinated, researchers are working to determine whether people who donate blood after getting a shot will help benefit those with weak immune systems. Earlier in the pandemic, people who recovered from the virus donated plasma to help patients still fighting it. “We know there’s nothing really in this vaccine that should cause issues with immunocompromised or suppressed individuals,” Neilson said. He said both Pfizer and Moderna are starting to do clinical trials and will likely include those who are immunocompromised if the trial is big enough.

Whether it’s showing off vampire-looking red contacts, glittery lashes, or the timeless cat-eye, do these products hurt your eyes? While they may spook up your Halloween costume, they can cause a scratched cornea, infection or even blindness, according to the FDA and CDC. We use water to wash away the germs on our hands, but we shouldn’t use it near our eyes. If you get an eye infection, throw it all away and begin with a new set. How long could I be contagious before a positive virus test?

Read full article: How long could I be contagious before a positive virus test?

How long could I be contagious before a positive virus test? Studies have shown that people may be contagious for about two days before developing COVID-19 symptoms. But there’s a more complicated part to this question: What if someone knows they were exposed but their virus test comes back negative -- could they still be contagious? A negative test within less than seven days after exposure "is a very, very poor indicator of whether you have virus on board,” said Dr. Alan Wells of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. A negative test between seven and 10 days of exposure is a better indicator, Wells said, but even then some people might not test positive until later.
