On Friday, the FBI announced that the extensive search โyielded several items of interestโ in the investigation into Mauldinโs disappearance. An FBI spokesperson said those items are now undergoing testing but did not confirm that Mauldinโs remains had been found. Investigators from the Clay County Sheriffโs Office, State Attorneyโs Office and FBI began searching the landfill Jan. 21. Itโs also where Clay County Sheriffโs Office detectives found the body of 7-year-old Somer Thompson in 2009.
