Officers called Tuesday afternoon to North Whitney, off Lewis Speedway, found a man unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, according to the St. Augustine Police Department. When the man died, it became a homicide investigation. Police ask anyone with any information to call St. Augustine police at 904-825-1070 or, if you would like to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS (8447). Also Tuesday afternoon, officers responded to the Woodcrest Apartments, which is nearby, to investigate gunfire. Police said both were isolated incidents and there was no threat to the community.

At last check Friday, he remained in custody at the Suwannee County jail, where he’s being held without bond. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A 28-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday night when authorities said he pointed a gun at a St. Augustine police offer and a St. Johns County deputy who responded to a domestic disturbance call at a condominium on Masters Drive. Chuck Mulligan, with the Sheriff’s Office, said the call came in shortly after 9 p.m. and deputies responded as a backup. Kevin Carroll and St. Johns County Deputy Kristapher James. The department has signed a contract with Axon Enterprise, which is the same company the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office uses for its body cams. The contract includes 60 sets of cameras and stun guns at a cost just over $150,000. The St. Augustine Police Department expects to begin using the body cameras within the first 10 days of December. The St. Augustine Police Department said the body was found in the intercoastal waterway behind Cats Paw Marina just after 8 a.m. They have not released the man's identity but said FWC officials said it did not appear to be related to any boating incidents. ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - A motorcyclist was killed Monday in an overnight crash on the Bridge of Lions. Officers with the St. Augustine Police Department said someone called around 2:23 a.m. after hearing a loud crash near the bridge. When officers arrived, they found two people had been thrown from a motorcycle on the east end of the bridge. The driver, according to police, was taken to Flagler Hospital where he later died. The passenger on the motorcycle was listed in stable condition at Flagler Hospital.
