Jacksonville Boat Show floats into the River City
The North Florida Marine Association will host the 76th Annual Jacksonville Boat Show January 26 - 28 at the Prime Osborn Convention Center. This beloved North Florida event has been bringing together the boating community since 1947.ย This yearโs Boat Show, sponsored by VyStar Credit Union, brings new dealers to the Convention Center, ensuring attendees will see even more boat brands than in prior shows. Showgoers will enjoy three days of water-related fun, family-friendly activities, and educational seminarsโas well as amazing deals on hundreds of boats and thousands of accessories. Mandarin High Schoolโs Jim Schmitt named 2021 VyStar Duval County Teacher of the Year

VyStar ranked No. 1 Credit Union in Florida
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. VyStar Credit Union obtained more loans on behalf of small business owners through the SBAs Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) than any other credit union in Florida and second most in the U.S., according to data released by the United States Treasury Department earlier this month. After the PPP began accepting applications in early April, VyStar originated 4,431 loans totaling $146,593,337. These funds helped local small business owners retain employees, pay bills and remain viable despite the challenges brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. Employees across all departments never stopped working for our members and small business owners, said Jenny Vipperman, VyStars Chief Lending Officer. Together, these credit unions saved more than 1.1 million jobs, according to data provided in the SBAs PPP report.
Patrick Tucker honored as All-Star Athlete
Patrick Tucker is on the basketball and golf teams at Bishop Kenny High School. Patrick is president of the Senior Class and president of the National Honor Society. He was selected as a member of the 2020 FHSAA Academic All-State Team. Patrick volunteers with Camp I Am Special, a camp for children with special needs. Patrick currently has a 4.4 GPA.
Jacksonville City Council to consider small business relief program
Mayor Lenny Curry tweeted over the weekend that the Jacksonville City Council on Monday will consider the small business relief program legislation that he announced last week. In addition, the City of Jacksonville tweeted that more details regarding the program in partnership with VyStar Credit Union will be announced Monday. "It is my intention at the city portion of this program will be focused on small businesses with some elements tied to employee retention.โMore details for the Cityโs Small Business Loan Program in partnership with @OfficialVyStar to be announced tomorrow. The credit union also said its working with the city to help keep Jacksonville businesses afloat. On the federal level, Congressโ Paycheck Protection Program enables small businesses to receive up to $10 million.

VyStar Credit Union completes acquisition of Citizens State Bank
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - VyStar Credit Union announced Monday that it has successfully acquired Citizens State Bank, a Florida state-chartered bank headquartered in Perry, Florida with $280 million in assets. VyStar first announced the move in January but it was expected to take until mid-2019 to complete the acquisition. The acquisition will bring VyStars total number of full-service branches to 55, and total assets to nearly $8.9 billion, serving more than 665,000 members. The credit union said all the operations integrations should be finished by mid-October. In addition, VyStar received approval from the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance and the FLOFR to expand into four Southeast Georgia counties: Camden, Charlton, Glynn and Ware.
