By News4Jax count, 13 people have been shot in the past 4 days. Police said at about 7 p.m. a man and a woman were shot. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, 33 crimes have been reported in the past month within a half mile radius of the apartment complex. Friday night's shooting was the latest in a string of violence over the past few days in Jacksonville.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Two teenage boys were wounded in a drive-by shooting early Monday evening in the Moncrief area of Northwest Jacksonville, the Jacksonville's Sheriff's Office said. Shot Spotter alerted police about 5:45 p.m. to gunfire on West 27th Street, just west of Moncrief Road. Both teens were taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A person was found unresponsive in a car Friday night and died, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report. Police were called just after 9 p.m. Friday to Moncrief Road near Edgewood Avenue West. The police report shows a person was taken to UF Health hospital, where the person died. A woman at the hospital told police that the person was found unresponsive in a car and two other people tried to perform CPR until the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department arrived, according to the report. The gender and age of the person who died were redacted from the police report, but the report shows the Department of Children and Families was contacted.

The fire at Calloway Cove, formally known as Washington Heights, on Moncrief Road left three children and one adult in critical condition in the burn unit. It was scary," said James Kelly, who lives behind the Calloway Cove complex. The plan that is now underway calls for all the displaced household members to be rehoused at Calloway Cove. As soon as the building is released to Millennia Housing Management, the necessary security measures will be put in place. The Calloway Cove community is currently undergoing a major renovation.
