Police make arrest in 2019 murder of 24-year-old father
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ The Jacksonville Sheriffโs Office announced the agency made an arrest in a 2019 murder investigation. A spokesperson said Nehemiah Ford, 20, has been charged with murder and aggravated battery for the shooting death of a young man at a home on the 3400 block of North Pearl Street. Family members identified the victim as 24-year-old Steven Burt and said he was the father of two girls. A witness told police that it started as a street fight that spread across the Brentwood neighborhood in Jacksonville, according to police. Ford was already serving a sentence for burglary and armed possession of a controlled substance unrelated to the murder investigation when police added the new charges.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ A man is expected to recover after he was found with a gunshot wound on Thursday at a gas station in the Brentwood neighborhood. According to the Jacksonville Sheriffโs Office, the man was found with a gunshot wound in his leg around 5:30 p.m. at a gas station near the intersection of East 21st Street and North Main Street. 1 shot outside Brentwood gas station, Jacksonville police say
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ One person was shot early Sunday morning outside a gas station in the Brentwood neighborhood, according to the Jacksonville Sheriffโs Office. Police said that when the arrived to the gas station, they found a male, who had been shot in his left leg, inside the store. Lawyers for Taylor Williamsโ mom want more time to prepare defense
Brianna Williams, who reported Taylor missing from their new Brentwood home in November, is charged with two counts of child neglect and one count of lying to police.
