JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A pregnant woman was shot early Tuesday morning as she slept in her apartment on Kona Avenue, and the woman’s unborn child has died, police said. A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office spokesman said the woman, in her late 20s, was shot once in the stomach around 1:15 a.m. She was stabilized at the hospital but was reportedly in serious condition. Police said two other people were inside the Golden Shores apartment complex at the time of the shooting. Very sad," said another neighbor, who told News4Jax she met the woman who was pregnant a few months ago. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A shooting in the back parking lot of a Checkers Drive-In Restaurant on Kings Road left Sunday afternoon left one man dead and one man critically injured, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Arriving officers found two men in their early 20s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside their black four-door sedan. JSO is working to identify these men and notify their next of kin. "I think they are just stopping people who are coming through, trying to identify. There are family members that have come towards trying to find out if these are their family members or not.

Austin Douglas was found shot to death about 7 a.m. March 3 between two cars the parking lot of the plaza anchored by Kohls. Detectives said they learned that Douglas and two others were involved in an attempted robbery and aggravated battery on Woodbridge Court -- off Kernan. A U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task force found Lott in Valdosta on Aug. 22 and made the arrest. On Wednesday, Lott was booked into the Duval County jail and charged formally charged with felony murder, attempted murder, attempted home invasion and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Under Florida law, Forbes is charged with murder because Sykes death took place during the commission of a felony: attempted armed robbery. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man who police believe was shot once in the abdomen was found dead in a white SUV Tuesday morning in front of a house on West 42nd Street, half a block west of Main Street. Adam Blinn said a resident called 911 about 7:30 a.m. to report a person unresponsive in a vehicle. When police and Jacksonville Fire-Rescue personnel arrived, the man was dead. One man who works in the area thinks the shooting death probably has something to do with drug dealing. This was the 134th homicide in Jacksonville this year.
